Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs. Dyson V10 Abs
Répondre

Dyson is the automated answer for a lot of people whenever the open-ended “What is the best vacuum cleaner” question is asked. Sure enough, many Dyson models on the market today are the top best vacuum cleaners in-class.

But with so many good Dyson models to choose from and all of them promising more or less the same thing (great performance; beautiful and lightweight design, and so on,) it can be pretty tough to choose one.

In this article, we will analyze the two top-sellers Dyson vacuums and see how they are different from one another: the Dyson V11 Torque Drive and the V10 Absolute.

1. Dyson V11 Torque Drive

The V11 series vacuums are the latest, most modern cordless stick vacuums from Dyson. Thus, if you invest in a V11, you get all of Dyson’s latest innovations and more.

There are actually three different variants of V11: Animal, Torque Drive, and Outsize. The Torque Drive variant delivers the most values while maintaining a reasonable price tag at the same time. It also turns out to be the most popular out of the trio, so we’ll be having a heavier focus on the Torque Drive today.

The V11 Torque Drive has one of the best and most versatile cleaning performance in the stick vacuum market segment. Suction power is high with Dyson’s new Digital Motor, giving the vacuum the ability to cleanly take out strewn-out debris and stubborn dirt on bare floors.

Carpet performance is enhanced with a Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS). The sensor analyzes the thickness of the carpet by sensing the resistance of the carpet’s fibers against the brush roll. A microprocessor inside of the V11 then processes the data and adjusts performance so as to best clean out the carpet while optimizing energy efficiency.

All in all, it’s as close to a “smart” vacuum as you can possibly get at the moment.

There is this feature that sets the V11 apart from not just all the other Dyson vacuums but also the rest of the industry: the back-mounted LCD screen. This screen displays all of the information you would need to fluently operate the vacuum. Data like battery life, the cleaning mode that the vacuum is currently tuned to, and troubleshooting messages are all prettily and conveniently presented by the screen.

There aren’t many vacuums out there that have the same feature. Even best vacuum cleaners in the world from the top best vacuum cleaner brands like Shark, Bissell, and Hoover have all stuck to the same tried-and-true design without much electronics involved.

2. Dyson V10 Absolute

So, how does the older V10 Absolute compare?

Well, although it certainly does not have the V11 Torque Drive’s fancy smart sensors and LCD screen, there aren’t actually a lot of differences between either model as one would expect.

The V10 Absolute also features Dyson Digital Motor— the component that gives the V11 Torque Drive its highly-praised suction performance. In fact, it is the first series of Dyson stick vacuums to feature the technology. Because of this, you get more or less the same suction performance between either model.

Sure, the V10 doesn’t have the DLS to augment its carpet cleaning performance, but most vacuum cleaner reviews gave it high scores in performance tests all the same. This vacuum is capable of sucking up dust, debris, and other things on hardwood floors and dense carpets alike.

Design-wise, the V10 Absolute is pretty unremarkable. But this can be a good thing if you prefer simplicity. After all, a lot of people turn out to dislike all of the fancy extra electronics in the V11 Torque Drive. If you prefer the more analog, old-fashioned vacuum design, this one got you covered.

There’s the price tags, too: the V10 Absolute is cheaper than the V11 Torque Drive by a wide margin. It would be the better choice if you’re shopping on a budget.

Conclusion

All in all, if you want the best of the best vacuum cleaners on the market and don’t mind spending a couple more bucks to get it, the V11 Torque Drive will be a good decision. On the other hand, if you prefer a more simple style at a cheaper cost, go for the V10 Absolute.
